New Cork Property Website www.chap.ie to be launched on 16th February 2009
A new Cork Property Website www.chap.ie (Cork Homes and Properties) is to be launched on 16th February in The Maryborough House Hotel, Cork by Tom Parlon, CIF Director General.
The new website chap.ie has been developed by the members of the Cork Branch of Construction Industry Federation and contains details of almost 500 individual homes that are for sale (including houses, duplexes, apartments and bungalows)
Announcing the details of the launch of chap.ie on 16th February, Joe O’Brien, CIF Director said “This website is being launched to create an additional sales channel for new homes in Cork. One of the main advantages of the site is the fact that it deals only with new homes. Our experience shows that new homes have been reduced in price far more aggressively than second hand homes and as a result, the price of new homes now reflects what the market demands. However, when new and second hand homes are being marketed side by side it can lead to some confusion. Secondly, there are a number of other advantages of buying a new home, including huge stamp duty savings and the fact that new homes boast significantly better energy efficiency.”
“Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) shows that the average energy bill (heating and electricity) for a house built in the 1970s is nearly €3000.00. For a new home, it is less than €1,000.00. A site such as this allows us to clearly show these advantages. The decision to develop the site came from our two successful Cork New Homes Fairs last year, which attracted massive interest from the public and generated significant sales interest. It convinced us that there is a strong appetite and pent up demand for new homes in Cork and so chap.ie is a natural development from this.”
According to Joe O’Brien “CIF constantly look for new and innovative ways to assist member companies in improving their business. Chap.ie is the first website of its kind for CIF, aimed at giving Cork home building members a further sales channel for their new homes. Chap.ie will offer the buying public the best selection of new homes for sale in Cork, and should this prove a success it is hoped to develop similar websites for other home building members across the Country over time.”
The launch of chap.ie follows on for the successful launch last year of the CIF information website www.homefacts.ie. Chap.ie provides an interactive map and easy to navigate search tool to allow for easy browsing.
The most important issue is to show case the excellent value to potential buyers and chap.ie will do this.”
